I try to position shapes but they snap to weird positions that aren’t even on the grid. Please fix the gesture issues and I will bump this back up to 5 stars because the new UI is great. I use this tool professionally and this is costing me time. I use an iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil and this issue displays regardless of the proximity of the Apple Pencil. It takes 3 tap-offs to fully clear the selection. If I tap-off again then a selection bubble is displayed. This is very awkward.Īnother problem is that if I tap and hold an object and then two-finger tap (which selects the first object) and then remove my finger from the original object and tap-off to unselect the first object a selection circle is displayed randomly on the screen. If I two-finger tap a second time the object will be duplicated. The older versions would have selected the original object as soon as it was touched. Instead of duplicating the object, the original object displays it is selected. I touch and hold the object and then two-finger tap where I want the duplicate to be. For example I use “Duplicate” very often. But this latest version has huge problems with the gestures I’ve used from earlier versions. The UI updates are very good and intuitive (especially if you are familiar with previous versions). An incredibly powerful app for both beginners and professionals. It sure would be nice if the instructions were rearranged a bit with that in mind. All we want to do is get back to creating. Sometimes we just don't care why anything was done the way it was. All that for a task I had expected would have taken about fifteen to twenty minutes (previewing and downloading files). It took me about 6 hours of troubleshooting, with a few breaks to figure this out. )Īs in my case, I needed to download some sheet music. Sometimes though, all we want to do is get the software running ASAP and not waste time with info that to us (at least for the time being), is irrelevant. It is nice sometimes to know WHY certain changes were made. That could have been included in "further information" or something like that. I realize the information IS there, but I had to read through information that frankly, I don't care about.Īs an end user, I don't really NEED to know why things were changed. Question: "Are you planning to run Sibelius 5 with Scorch 620? If so, after you have installed Scorch, download this font package and follow these instructions: 'Instructions for fonts'" It does appear that simply installing Scorch 620, then replacing the old fonts from the zip package will take care of it.Ī simply instruction worded as follows would have avoided the problem altogether: The only real reason the process was somewhat convoluted is simply because the special notes don't seem to me to be very clear about the font situation applying to Scorch as well as Sibelius 6. It seems though, that a bit of "extra fiddling" might have prevented this problem.īe that as it may, it appears the problem is now solved for me, albeit through what I consider a somewhat convoluted process.
